University Forest Entreprise

The main educational institution, for the forestry teaching, is the Technical University in Zvolen and especially its Faculty of Forestry. The University Forest Enterprise takes a leading role in providing hands-on training, where it is a major specialized facility of the University.

The territory of the University Forest Enterprise represents an extensive natural laboratory, which creates the appropriate model conditions for performing various forestry activities. This is allowed,

Diverse vegetation can be found in this area from highly thermophilous and xerophytic species through associations of nutrient sites to elements of the mountain flora. The maximum utilization of the natural characteristics of the territory (beyond the normal forest management) enables the classification of the forests owned by the state as a category of special purpose forests.
